Sida’s Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change was established in 2011. The Helpdesk is commissioned by Sida – the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – to assist Sida staff in integrating environmental (including climate change and disaster risk reduction) perspectives into Swedish development cooperation. The Helpdesk gives support, on demand, by providing advice and strategic guidance on environmental integration at policy, program and project level. It also supports capacity building, development of tools and methods for environmental integration and dialogue concerning environmental issues.
The Helpdesk is a a consortium created between Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development, GMV and the Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences, SLU and consists of a Core Team of experts at GMV and SLU including one Team Leader (Anders Ekbom) and one Quality Manager (Eva Stephansson). In collaboration a broad resource pool of expertise, the Helpdesk supports Sida staff on demand, provides advice and strategic guidance on environment and climate change integration at policy, program and project level and supports capacity building and dialogue on environmental issues.
The Helpdesk’s general objective is to provide adequate advice which helps Sida to contribute to an environmentally sustainable development in partner countries. Visit our services for more information.
During the last year (2017) the Helpdesk supported Sida in 165 assignments e.g. through support in strategy processes, environmental integration trainings, reviews of environment opportunities and risks in Sida projects and programs, seminars, and analytic reports.
