About the Helpdesk

The Swedish University of Agricultural Science and the Gothenburg Centre for Environment and Sustainability (GMV at University of Gothenburg has an agreement with Sida -the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency - to provide helpdesk services on environment and climate change. The Sida Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change was established in 2011. The Helpdesk assists Sida staff in integrating environmental (including climate change and disaster risk reduction) perspectives into Swedish development cooperation. The Helpdesk gives support, on demand, by providing advice and strategic guidance on policy, program and project level. It also supports capacity building, development of tools and methods for environmental integration and dialogue concerning environmental issues.

The Helpdesk is a consortium created between Gothenburg Centre forSustainable Development, GMV and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU and consists of a Core Team of experts  including one Team Leader (Gunilla Ölund Wingqvist) and one Quality Manager (Eva Stephansson). In addition to inhouse expertise the Helpdesk may also collaborate with a broad resource pool of experts.

The overall objective of the Helpdesk is to provide adequate advice which helps Sida to contribute to an environmentally sustainable development  in partner countries. Visit our services for more information.

During the last year (2017) the Helpdesk supported Sida in 165 assignments mainly through support in strategy processes, review of environmental opportunities and risks in Sida supported projects and programs, seminars and trainings, and analytical reports.
