Projects and programs

The Sida Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change gives expert advice on environmental including climate change issues in preparation, implementation, monitoring and reporting on programmes and projects; e.g. assisting in reviewing Environmental Impact Assessment/Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/SEA), formulating Terms of References for EIA/SEA and identification of results indicators.

Examples of previous work done by the Sida Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change:

  • Practical advice on how to integrate environmental aspects in the dialogue on the National Employment Programme in Rwanda.
  • Terms of Reference for Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Malonda programme for private sector development in Niassa province, Mozambique.
  • Terms of Reference for Strategic Environmental Assessment of the National Program for Sub-National Democratic Development in Cambodia.
  •  Comments and advice on environmental assessments of project proposals in various countries including humanitarian support.
  • Comments on Terms of Reference for an Environmental Impact Assessment for a health project in Democratic Replublic of the Congo.
  • Quality review of an Environmental Impact Assessment for a rural electrification programme in Uganda.
  • Quality review of a Strategic Environmental Assessment for hydropower development on the Mekong.
  • Review of environmental integration in sector programmes for health, education, energy, agriculture, market development, democracy and human rights.
