The costs for using the Helpdesk services are already covered by Sida HQ.
You don't need a Terms of Reference to contact the Helpdesk. Send us an email with a brief description of your needs and we will help you develop your request. If you do have a Terms of Reference, it is good to include a short explanation of what you need help with, what kind of output you expect, and a potential deadline for delivery. Each individual assignment normally has a limit of 15 days. But the Helpdesk also undertakes much shorter assignments - a phone call of only 15 minutes can also be requested.
In addition to colleagues at Sida and the embassies as well as Sida's own environmental advisors, the Helpdesk can support you with any environmental issues, including biodiversity and climate change. This includes environmental integration within contributions and strategies, in line with Sida’s requirements.
Yes. The Helpdesk can provide you with a variety of support anywhere in the contribution cycle as well as beyond projects and programmes. Read more about our support.
No, the Helpdesk can deliver the findings of the assignment in a multitude of ways, including online presentations and in-person presentations and workshops. The Helpdesk tailors the delivery to your needs.
The Helpdesk has full time environmental experts based at the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences who cover a broad range of topics. We regularly also involve external experts to support our in-house expertise. Read more about our core team of experts and how we work with external experts.
The Helpdesk continuously gathers good examples of environmental integration and aims to make these easily accessible. In the meantime, you will find a lot of guidance in Sida's Green Toolbox, and you can also find more information about previous assignments in our annual summaries. It does not matter if the environmental assessment is presented as a separate document, or if it is integrated in the project document. Presenting it as a separate document can give a good overview, but the most important aspect is that the findings of the assessment have informed the design of the project.
