About us

The Helpdesk is based at two universities to support research, policy, and practice linkages.

Sida’s Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change is a government agency collaboration between Sida, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and the University of Gothenburg to promote enhanced integration of environmental issues and perspectives in Swedish development cooperation. We support all staff at Sida and Swedish embassies with any matter relating to the environment in Swedish development cooperation.

Evidence- and experience-based guidance to Sida to bridge the research, policy, and practice gap

Being based at academic institutions, we have more than 20 years of experience in providing evidence-based guidance to Sida on environmental management and integration in Swedish development cooperation. An important feature of our work is to help minimise the gap between research, policy and practice. Part of our mission is to monitor current trends within the environment, including climate change and biodiversity, linked to the perspectives and priorities of Swedish development cooperation.

Core Team and external experts

The Sida Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change consists of a Core Team of experts, including a Team Leader and a Quality Manager. In addition to this in-house expertise, the Helpdesk also collaborates with a broad resource pool of Swedish and international experts and networks.
